Deerfield Beach’s Beloved Charm City Burger Co. Will Move to Boca Raton

Step inside Deerfield Beach’s legendary Charm City Burger Co. on Hillsboro Blvd. just west of the Intracoastal Bridge and you might spot something out of place on the menu: sandwiches.
Perhaps you’ll be drawn to the Plain Jane Sandwich — crispy chicken with muenster, available “regular,” “fuego” or “loaded.” Or maybe your belly will rumble seeing a hand-shaved Philly cheesesteak, available two ways, classic, or spicy, with red hot chili pepper relish aioli.
These are just two of a series of sandwiches Charm City has begun rolling out and taste-testing at Deerfield’s most famous burger joint in preparation for a massive change that might make some burger-aficionados cry a little. Charm City Burger Co.’s Deerfield Beach storefront will soon no longer serve its signature burgers. Instead, the beloved hole-in-the-wall will become a sandwich shop when the burger operation moves to Boca Raton in 2024 (exact date TBD).
There will still be beef options at Charm City Sandwich Co. – like the chopped Wagyu cheeseburger sub with caramelized onions, hot pepper relish, house-made white cheese “wiz” and roasted garlic aioli on a toasted sesame seed roll. But for their beefy goodness between two classic buns, you’ll soon head to Boca.
“We’re excited to be opening in Boca Raton but Deerfield Beach is home and always will be,” says co-owner and co-founder Chef Michael Saperstein. “We are confident our fans will embrace Charm City Sandwich Co. with the same vigor and passion that has made us such a fixture in the neighborhood.”
For 15 years, Charm City Burger Co. has delighted guests, gaining a cult following. Their burgers have made the cut on far-reaching “Best” and “Top” lists including TripAdvisor, Burger Beast, Food Network and USA Today. The media spotlight has drawn both tourists and locals alike to feast on the restaurant’s charmed burgers. Hopefully the sandwiches will make their mark as well.
