As we report each month, the state continuously  inspects Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach restaurants for cleanliness and other sanitary and health related issues.  It is rare that a restaurant get zero violations.  Every so often,  restaurants get a temporary closure.  If they are able to correct the problems  they are likely to re-open within 24 hours.  Some violations are more egregious and require the inspectors to take more serious actions.

J’S KITCHEN in Deerfield Beach

On May 30th, J’S KITCHEN on 196 N Federal Hwy in Deerfield Beach was temporarily closed due to roach excrements being found in the kitchen among other high priority violations. This was the only time the Deerfield Beach restaurant was closed although they have received notice for over 100 violations in the past two or so years.

Highlights of the inspector’s report include:

 Feijao Con Arroz Restaurant in Pompano Beach

 Feijao Con Arroz Restaurant in Pompano Beach on 559 E. Sample Rd was closed down on May 28, 2019 and re-opened the following day.  The restaurant’s violations including improper storage and handling of food and evidence of roach activity.  Over the past two years, the Pompano Beach restaurant has received approximately 90 violations, mostly considered “basic” which can be considered non-priority infractions.

 The inspector’s report includes the following:

High Priority – Employee touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands *
